Following the prompt sale of the Halls Motorsport team prior to this season’s Christmas-New Year period, team owner Brian Hall has now stepped away from Sprintcar team ownership on a national level.

Totally Speedway has pieced together this top-five moments tribute to Brian Hall and his Halls Motorsport team, which was formed in the early 2000s, as a way of thanking Hall and the team for their contribution to the sport.

1: Lines won the 2013 Grand Annual Classic at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway in Victoria. He certainly didn’t have it all his own way, though, when he dropped back to third during the early stages of the race. Once he found the groove, he moved forward and after surviving numerous restarts, claimed his second career Grand Annual Classic victory – the first and only for the Halls Motorsport team. Lines, at the time, went on to label this win, as “the greatest of his career”.

2: With a previous best finish of third, Lines won the 2013-14 season World Series Sprintcars Championship in impressive fashion. During the Speedweek portion of the series, he dominated with two wins and a second place from the five rounds, which saw him crowned as the Speedweek Champion. Capping what was an amazing season for Lines and the team, they celebrated with three wins and five minor podium finishes.

3: Back in 2010, Hall made the bold move to chase the World of Outlaws campaign over in America with Australian star Kerry Madsen as his driver. Although scoring mixed results, Madsen’s best result during this period was a fifth-place finish in that year’s Knoxville Nationals. That was the highest finish for an Australian competitor at that event at the time.

4: In 2016, Lines showed complete domination of the annual Krikke Boys Shootout, winning both nights in spectacular fashion. The second night, the $20,000 to win feature race even became a survival of the fittest with Lines choosing not to change his right-rear tyre, unlike many others. In the end, it paid off with the team clean sweeping the weekend.

5: Although Hall has had some star drivers over his 15 plus years of Sprintcar racing, which includes Lines, Madsen and Ryan Farrell, one of the proudest moments came in 2011, when his son, Greg, scored victory in the Western Australian 360 Sprintcar Title at Kalgoorlie International Speedway. Another highlight with Greg was at the 2009 Knoxville Nationals, during his one and only American racing trip, when he managed to qualify for the feature race on his qualifying night – finishing in 16th.

Thanks to Brian Hall and the Halls Motorsport team for the memories!
